just out of bed,
hair tousled and hugging hippo,
a tired smile on his face,
he knows it's a special day.

happy 6th birthday, luke.
we love you.

this should go over to the house blog...kind of...but not

we're spending our morning cleaning out the new office,
moving out furniture, flooring and ripping up carpet.

but in the middle of it all,
nick negotiated a tv hanging break.
which went freakishly smoothly

the kids dragged out a bunch of toys and turned on the roku immediately.
they are just so happy to be back in their house,
even if it's just dancing around and playing on the pile of flooring under the front window -
or watching the new tv while noshing on leftover donuts.

yep, i bribed everyone with donuts this morning,
if they would all get along and do everything i asked today.
there's too much to get done without bribes and a rigid taskmaster.
(hah! rigid, my patootie - I LET NICK HANG A TV UP)
okay, i'm off to cut carpet up in strips and wait for the dumpster to be delivered.
