Family Home Evening...

for FHE, i normally come up with a fun activity or idea -
and then build up the spiritual message behind the activity.
this was our glow in the dark night based on the fifth chapter of matthew...

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

there was also balloons filled with glow sticks
and glow-in-the-dark chalk.
it was so much fun,
especially how charlie kept tucking her glowstick necklace
under her shirt and going,
"look, my light is under a bushel!"
it was fun.
worth doing.
highly recommend.

still recapping halloween...

we went to zooboo again.
not because any of the adults particularly wanted to,
but because the kids love the zoo.

and luke and charlie have seen pictures of themselves attending -
so, thus, they need a memory they can remember.

good thing it was a thin crowd
and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful.

i was disappointed (knowingly)
that my favorite zoo exhibits were closed.

but the kids were happy,
because there was lots of candy
and the reptile house was still open.
(they could live in the reptile house)

and bonus, melinda will have to tell me his name -
this is a local musician who travels around the valley
performing his charming songs for kids.
he made the night.
nearly every memory i will keep -
will be of them dancing and laughing in front of him.
loved it.
